What is Bowenwork?
Bowenwork is a type of therapy where very gentle moves are performed, stimulating the nervous system to reset and heal. It was pioneered by a man named Tom Bowen who developed his therapy in Australia in the 1950’s and 60’s.
How does it work?
Your massage practitioner will perform very gentle moves over muscles and soft tissue. After each set of moves, the practitioner will leave the room to allow your body time to respond. Following treatment, you may notice some changes right away. You will notice changes over the next several days as your body continues the process.
Who can benefit from Bowenwork?
Almost anyone in any age bracket, including infants and children, can benefit from Bowenwork. The list of conditions that can be treated is quite impressive! Some of the things on that list include: headaches, migraines, digestive problems, asthma, TMJ, vertigo, sciatica, carpal tunnel, pregnancy aches and pains, labor and contractions, infertility, colic in infants, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, sports injuries, insomnia, arthritis, bed-wetting, incontinence, plantar fasciitis, post surgical rehab, and so on.
